Rosita Missoni’s calling for fashion is rooted in her childhood. She grew up in the surroundings of the fabric factory belonged to her family. Rosita and her husband Ottavio started their own knitwear business in 1953. About that time the iconic multicolored jigsaw pattern was presented to the world. It took them about five years to go from local success to international recognition. By the 1970s, Missoni’s pattern was being placed not only on clothing but also bikinis, candles and car interiors.
