    About Boucheron Brand

From serving the Royal families all over the world in 19th century to making the sought-after jewelry pieces nowadays, Boucheron house did it all. Today the brand keeps its leading position in the luxury jewelry strong.

A balanced mixture of traditions and creativity has been making Boucheron jewelry highly desirable throughout the time. For instance, one of the most recent pieces, a necklace from Goutte de Ciel (Drop of Sky) collection. It’s a white gold and diamond necklace that features an exquisite ice-blue pendant made of Aerogel. It’s a material that was previously only used by NASA. The idea behind the piece was to capture the purity of the sky and translate it into a jewelry piece.

As to vintage Boucheron jewelry, it definitely carries the influence of French Classicism era.

Being raised by the family of drapers, Frédéric Boucheron, the Maison’s founder, brought the pliancy of silk and laces into the goldsmith process. That concept is easy to see in the airy looking Boucheron Bombé ring or famous Boucheron bird brooches.

At Nadine Krakov Collection we carry both modern and vintage Boucheron pieces that you can shop here.

    About Rock Crystal Jewelry

Rock crystal, a transparent variety of quartz, is a versatile and elegant gemstone. In jewelry design rock crystal is valued for its clarity and brilliance. The term “rock crystal” is often used to describe colorless quartz, distinguishing it from other colored varieties. While it may not have the vibrant colors that are associated with gemstones, its transparency, hardness, and ability to be faceted make it a popular choice for jewelry.

The exceptional clarity and transparency of rock crystal allow light to pass through easily, creating a play of reflections within the gem. This quality sets rock crystal apart from many other gems. It also lets to apply faceting technique to the stone. The gem can be cut into various shapes, from classic rounds and ovals to more complex cuts like emerald and pear, enhancing its versatility in jewelry design.

Quartz shows great durability with a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale. This hardness makes rock crystal suitable for everyday wear, ensuring longevity and resistance to scratches.

    About Vintage French Jewelry

Vintage French jewelry is highly valued by jewelry experts and enthusiasts. Since the late Renaissance, France has been established itself as one of the world trendsetters in art and fashion. A quick look at the top 5 French jewelry designers — Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Hermes, Chaumet, Boucheron — describes French level of greatness even better.

What allowed France to reach such a high level in the jewelry world hierarchy? In a nutshell, it’s because of the apprenticeship system. In the beginning of 1950s in France anyone at the age 14 could start learning the craft. This way French jewelers, like no others in the world, gain a substantial portion of experience at the early age. Even non-designer jewels were produced by the high skilled masters.

Most modern jewelry is not handcrafted anymore, and mass market-oriented production is prevailing. Jewelry designs are streamlined to use as less hand labor as possible. That’s why today vintage French jewelry is in such high demand.

Nadine Krakov Collection offers the most desirable French vintage jewelry  online made by the French experts.
