These vintage earrings by Bettina Gabetti for Trianon date to the late 1970s to 1980s, a period that defined Trianon’s signature exploration of natural materials and sculptural form. The earrings are crafted as layered floral motifs, combining hand carved wood, carnelian petals, and a faceted citrine center. This interplay of texture and color reflects the early design direction of Trianon, founded in 1977 by Ward Landrigan following his acquisition of Seaman Schepps. While historically connected, Trianon developed its own identity, becoming known for its inventive use of organic materials, bold silhouettes, and refined Italian craftsmanship.
The earrings measure 1 1/8 inches and have a combined weight of 12.9 grams. They are stamped with the Bettina Gabetti maker’s mark, 750 (18k) gold mark, and the Trianon maker's mark, all consistent with production from this era. The backs are fitted with secure clips integrated into carved wooden bases. These earrings come with their original box and we have a matching brooch.
These earrings are an excellent example of Trianon’s early work, balancing artistry and wearability through materials rarely seen in fine jewelry. Their dimensional floral design, warm palette, and meticulous carving make them a collectible piece for clients who appreciate distinctive vintage jewelry with a strong design lineage.
