Van Cleef & Arpels onyx and diamond butterfly necklace crafted in 18K yellow gold, circa 1980s. The butterfly features polished onyx wings and a center set with a 0.08-carat round brilliant cut diamond. The butterfly measures 7/16 inch (just under 1/2") by 7/8 inch. The chain measures 16 inches and includes an additional jump ring for adjustable length. The necklace weighs 5.1 grams. Hallmarks include VCA, 18K, B4398x11, and 0,08. Includes the original pouch. The butterfly motif has long been part of the maison’s design language, symbolizing transformation and movement.
