Webb became known for his use of animal motifs, creating intricate and lifelike animal-themed jewelry, including elephants, zebras, and lions. He often incorporated vibrant gemstones, enamels, and bold color combinations into his designs, giving his pieces a unique and eye-catching appeal. Webb was a master of enamel work, using this technique to add depth and color to his designs. He experimented with textures, using hammered gold and intricate detailing to give his pieces a three-dimensional quality.
Webb's creations gained popularity among celebrities and high society. His clientele included Elizabeth Taylor, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, and the Duchess of Windsor. In 1964, David Webb received the prestigious Coty American Fashion Critics’ Award for his contributions to the fashion industry.
