    About the Brand:

David Webb, the American jewelry designer, is celebrated for his bold and distinctive creations, characterized by vibrant colors, intricate designs, and a fusion of traditional and contemporary elements. David Webb was born in Asheville, North Carolina, in 1925. He showed an early interest in art and jewelry design. Webb moved to New York City in the 1940s, where he began his career working for his uncle, a silversmith.

In 1948, Webb founded his own company, David Webb Inc., with a vision to create bold and innovative jewelry. Webb became known for his use of animal motifs, creating intricate and lifelike animal-themed jewelry, including elephants, zebras, and lions. He often incorporated vibrant gemstones, enamels, and bold color combinations into his designs, giving his pieces a unique and eye-catching appeal. Webb was a master of enamel work, using this technique to add depth and color to his designs. He experimented with textures, using hammered gold and intricate detailing to give his pieces a three-dimensional quality.

Webb’s creations gained popularity among celebrities and high society. His clientele included Elizabeth Taylor, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, and the Duchess of Windsor. In 1964, David Webb received the prestigious Coty American Fashion Critics’ Award for his contributions to the fashion industry. His designs were celebrated for their excellence in craftsmanship and innovative use of materials.

David Webb passed away in 1975 at the age of 50. His legacy lives on through his eponymous brand, and his vintage pieces are highly sought after by collectors. In recent years, there has been a renewed interest in David Webb’s work, with vintage pieces becoming highly collectible and the brand continuing to produce new designs inspired by his original creations. David Webb’s legacy as a visionary jewelry designer endures through the timeless and iconic pieces he created. His bold, imaginative designs continue to captivate and inspire both collectors and contemporary jewelry enthusiasts.
