Modern minimalism is the essence of Celine's look. The original aesthetic made a long journey. Nowadays it become even stronger and more pronounced.
The brand was founded in 1945 as a made-to-measure children's shoe store in Paris. It took Celine fifteen years to start offering women clothing that carried functionality of a sportswear approach. Fast forward another thirty years, Celinewas acquired by LVMH group with the founder Céline Vapiana still being a creative director. She passed away in 1997 and since then the brand switched fromone famous creative director to another. Until finally Phoebe Philo took over and brought back Celine's success along with its refined and elegant taste. Now it's Hedi Slimane who's responsible for edgy pieces by Celine.
