This Georg Jensen Denmark brooch is crafted in 830 silver and dates to 1933 to 1944, based on the GJ maker’s mark within a square. The brooch features a stylized tulip motif with a sculptural, openwork form. The flower is designed with smooth curved petals, raised silver berries, and a curled stem that creates negative space through the center of the piece. The design reflects Georg Jensen’s Danish silver work from the prewar period, balancing natural forms with a more simplified modernist approach.
The reverse is stamped with the GJ square hallmark, used by Georg Jensen from 1933 to 1944. It is also stamped 830 within a dotted oval, confirming the Scandinavian 830 silver standard, along with DENMARK for country of origin. The brooch is further stamped 100, identifying the design number. It measures 1 1/8 inches in length by 1 inch in width and weighs 6.2 grams. The piece retains its original pin fitting and shows the clean, dimensional silverwork associated with Georg Jensen jewelry from this period.
