A Grima diamond and pearl necklace designed as a stylized leaf, set fully with brilliant-cut diamonds in 18k white gold. The open leaf curves into a pointed silhouette with feathered edges along each side, giving the pendant texture and a sense of movement rather than a flat outline. A grey Tahitian pearl drop hangs from the base, adding an elegant contrast between the cool white diamonds and the soft, iridescent surface of the pearl.
The pendant is fitted with a brooch fitting on the reverse, so it converts easily between a necklace and a brooch, and the pearl drop detaches if a cleaner diamond look is preferred. It hangs from a simple white gold wire collar that keeps the focus on the leaf motif and pearl. Signed Grima 750, the piece reflects the work of Andrew Grima, who by the mid-1960s had become the leading figure of British jewelry design and a favored jeweler to royalty and high society.
The necklace measures 16 1/2"; the brooch - 3 3/8" x 1 3/8", and the piece weighs 51.8 grams total.
