A refined and charming circa 1930s duck brooch by the prestigious Parisian jeweler Marchak. This sculptural jewel is crafted in 18k yellow gold with platinum-set diamond accents, a classic material combination used by Marchak for fine animalier pieces of the Art Deco era. The body is centered with a vibrant oval turquoise cabochon, while the beak and legs are articulated with baguette-cut diamonds, and a small round diamond forms the eye, creating a lively and dimensional design.
The brooch bears the appropriate French hallmarks including the eagle head for 18k gold and the dog’s head for platinum, along with the Marchak maker’s mark and an individual serial number, confirming its origin and quality.
The brooch measures approximately 1 1/4 inches in length and 3/4 inches in height and weighs 4.6 grams. A distinctive and collectible jewel from one of the great Parisian maisons, well suited for both wear and serious collection.
