2236 UROO
This is a Navajo squash blossom necklace handcrafted in sterling silver and turquoise, signed NB, a hallmark attributed to Nellie B. Nez, a Native American silversmith known for traditional Navajo jewelry. The necklace features a bold naja pendant, which is a crescent-shaped centerpiece historically associated with Navajo ceremonial and symbolic design.
Each turquoise stone is bezel-set and framed with rope-like silver detailing, showcasing natural Arizona turquoise. The graduated silver beads and traditional squash blossom settings between the stones emphasize its Navajo heritage. Weighing 523.1 grams, the necklace has a length of 29" with the pendant being approximately 4" in length.
This piece dates from the 1970s to early 1990s, a period when Native American jewelry gained popularity in mainstream fashion, yet still retained cultural authenticity.
