Vintage Mikimoto Akoya Pearl Graduated Necklace with Silver Clasp

Mikimoto cultured Akoya pearl necklace, designed as a single strand of white pearls finished with a sterling silver clasp. The clasp features the Mikimoto “M” inside a shell maker’s mark, along with an “S” stamp, indicating silver. The clasp is decorated with engraved detailing and a pearl accent to the front, adding a refined finish to the strand. The necklace measures 19 inches in length, weighs 13.7 grams, and comes with its original Mikimoto packaging.

The pearls display a white body color with soft luster, subtle variation in shape, and natural surface characteristics. The necklace shows wear consistent with age and prior use. The pearls have natural blemishing, slight tone variation, and visible wear near some drill holes. The strand is not knotted between each pearl, allowing the pearls to move along the strand. In some areas, the stringing material is visible between the pearls in two place near the clasp, as shown in the photos. The clasp shows patina and surface wear.
