Kutchinsky 18k Gold Pendant Pearl Gemstones
4123 – A000
A fun Kutchinsky pendant, made of 18k gold, features sapphires, rubies, and pearls.
The circular pendant is divided in two sections: the top is open work, and the bottom is solid.
The design depicts a stylized tree with the branches decorated with the pearls. There is a bench
underneath the tree; two hearts are sitting on the bench. An interesting detail: on the obverse of
the pendant two hearts are placed apart, on the reverse they lean on each other. The pendant's
bottom is made of the beautifully textured gold. This Kutchinsky gold pendant can be an
amazing gift to a loved one. It's a unique piece with a lot of charm.
About Kutchinsky Brand
Kutchinsky jewelry brand was started as a small family business. Hirsch Kutchinsky and his son, Morris, came from Poland to London in the end of the 19th century. By that time, they were highly experienced jewelers who served the court of Ludwig of Bavaria. In 1928 Morris’ son Joseph joined the firm. Being only 14, he already was a great diamond cutter. Very soon he became a head of Kutchisky's production of platinum and diamond watches. It felt like Joseph was born to lead a jewelry brand. He was charismatic, energized, and had natural sales ability. All these qualities along with original design ideas made Kutchinsky jewelry extremely popular. The most sought-after pieces by Kutchinsky house were produced in the 1930s-1950s. The House was called “the David Webb of London” because of the exuberant look and excessively detailed jewels. Kutchinsky pieces are always whimsical, with a pinch of humor and fun. The ones from the 1940s include many animalistic brooches. In the 1950s-1960s it was all about the firm mixing semi- and precious stones. That resulted in beautiful creations featuring lapis lazuli alongside diamonds, coral with sapphires, agate, turquoise or malachite alongside ruby or emerald.
In 1991 the company was sold to Moussaieff Jewellers. Since the original Kutchinsky brand is no longer active, its jewelry can be only found in private collections or with vintage jewelry dealers. You will find our selection of Kutchinsky jewelry here.
About Vintage Jewelry
Vintage jewelry is a broad subject which contains multiple aspects to discuss. We decided to answer a few basic questions to give a general introduction to the subject.
So, what is vintage jewelry? Why is it so appealing? And what's the best way to buy vintage jewelry online?
In the industry, different sellers and makers have different opinions on the time period when vintage jewels were made. Here at Nadine Krakov, we consider vintage as anything being made between 50 and 100 years ago. Therefore, all jewelry produced from 1930 to 1980 is called vintage.
This time frame comprises Art Deco, Retro and Mid-Century styles. Why do we love vintage jewelry so much? It's all about the quality of making and, of course, the aesthetic.
Vintage pieces were mostly made by hand or at least hand-finished while modern jewels are mainly cast. As the lifestyle back in the days was much slower, jewelry makers literally had more time in their hands. Skilled craftsmen honed their craft and reputation. They couldn’t allow a flimsy, poorly done piece to ruin that. Mass market jewelry didn’t exist at that time. Each little detail of a piece was executed thoughtfully and with the high quality in mind.
All the above is especially important when you are looking for a vintage engagement ring. If you want to find a special, one-of-a-kind engagement ring, look no further because we’ve got you covered. Either it's a perfect diamond ring or a stunning color gemstone ring, we have a great variety to choose from.
How to shop your vintage jewelry online? Ask questions about the maker's marks and hallmarks, request a video of the piece, and show it to your jeweler. The easiest way to be confident with your purchase is to find a trustworthy, reputable seller. And if you happen to be in the Beverly Hills area, just google “vintage jewelry near me”, find Nadine Krakov Collection store and stop by for a good chat with a sip of champagn
